What is a Differential? The difference between on and off setpoints on a control. For temperature, it is the difference in degrees between the thermostat's on and off setting. If you make the temperature setpoint 75° and set the heating differential to 3 degrees, it will supply power to the heating outlet at any temperature below 72° and cut off at 75°. In contrast, setting the cooling differential to 3 degrees will supply power to the cooling outlet at any temperature above 78° and cut off at 75°.

How the DT10 Differential Works - This control has 1 setpoint (SV value). The heating outlet will turn off when the temperature rises above the setpoint. The cooling outlet will cut off when the temperature drops below the setpoint. You can control the temperature that the heating outlet comes on with the CD differential value. For instance if the setpoint is 60 and you set the CD to 10, the heat will come on at 50 and then back off at 60. The HD differential setting will determine what temperature the cooling outlet comes on. For instance if you set the HD to 20, the cooling will come on at 80 and off at 60. If you prefer to have a separate setpoint for heating and cooling, we recommend one of these thermostats instead:

What in the words of nonsense?

I would not call the instruction manual an instruction manual. The words may be in English but it’s not a language I’ve ever heard before.
First thing I thought I’d try to do is change the display to Fahrenheit. The intrusions only say that you set the value as F. It has zero information on HOW to do that. Nothing on which of the 3 buttons you might push to achieve that. Nothing appears to correlate with CF. Whatever CF means.
    Instructions for setting the temperature?
When the temperature is set to the desired temperature it will turn on at that temperature.
    Ok but HOW?
Again, which buttons do you push and maybe an example would help. Not sure who wrote the ‘instructions’. But some actual instructions would be helpful. Wow

ACF Greenhouses: Your instructions should be the same as the SureStat DT10 Thermostat Instruction Manual we list on this page. Page 6 has a pretty detailed description of how to change all settings on the control along with a flow chart to show what each setting does.
    1. Hold the SET button until the display flashes.
    2. Press UP or DOWN to change setting.
    3. Press SET to move to the next setting.

    Hands off

We were looking for something to better control temp w/o having to keep unplugging at outlet. So far it has worked phenomenal. Glad I searched outside my usual sources

    Unreliable

The thermostat is set up and running well for days and then starts to let temp drop 20 degrees less than set point. A daily occurrence not associated with the heater shutting down due to overheating or other malfunction....tried with multiple heaters. I am scrapping it.

ACF Greenhouses: I’m sorry to hear you received a defective thermostat. We have not heard of any other customers having issues with theirs and will be happy to replace it with a new one.

Unit is operating well. Setup was a hassle. The written instructions were so small had to use a magnifier. Between steps unit would time out. Had to write out procedure and hang next to unit to set it up. You need to increase time out to 10 seconds between steps and have instruction text much larger letters.

ACF Greenhouses: I’m sorry you had trouble reading the manual. Surestat DT10 instructions with larger print are available for download in the item's description.

Finally found what I was looking for

I looked all over for a control like this one that could handle more than 10 amps, so I could use it with my electric space heater. It can automatically switch from heat to cool mode as the ambient conditions change throughout the day/night which is nice during those months when you start out in heating mode in the morning and are looking for some cooling by the late afternoon!

    Nice for greenhouse

Great for out little hobby greenhouse. Used both high & low temp alarm functions. Good product thus far.

    Amazing product

I bought this to regulate the temperature on a freezer that I use for home brewing. Compared to other devices, the price point was spot-on and it does exactly what I needed to.
