Cat 3 vent pipe green house kit went together very well just wish there would have been some instructions. Bought a thimble and used instead of green house plates because of my material in wall.ACF Greenhouses: I'm sorry you did not receive instructions for installing the vent system. They should have been in a red envelope included with your order.
This kit was everything I needed to get my garage heater installed. It's a nice kit I was looking around on a few different sites but I'm glad I ordered this one. Maybe it was just me but horizontal vent kits aren't easy to find and some of the kits were alot more than this one!
Venting kit worked well.
Good luck finding this stuff locally. I checked with 3 hvac equipment suppliers and none of people there even knew what category 3 or ul1738 was. I resorted to searching online for it and luckily found ACF. I asked the salesperson if this was some special venting required only by Sterling. He told me it is the same piping that has been required for all heaters like this since like 2012. WOW! Glad I didn't listen to these other stores who were trying to sell me something not even appropriate for this heater.
We took our time and lined up the vent to fit between the ribs on a pole building. All parts fir together perfectly.
We installed a natural gas heater in our garage. This unit along with the thimble extender was exactly what we needed. We had a wall 11” thick to go thru and no other item would work for us. They shipped quickly and it was perfect for our install.
Just what I needed. Looks great and went together easily.
It was a breeze doing business with ACF greenhouses. Fast shipping and all their products are of best quality. Trust worthy!!!!!
I liked that piping was stainless and had joint seals built into it. The piping was easily installed with one section being adjustable for length. One problem I had was the end cap joint. When tightening the clamp it wouldn’t secure the end cap. If I continued to tighten it it would crush the slip joint. To solve this problem I made a 4” diameter ring from band iron that slipped inside the pipe joint. This gave the clamp something to clamp against without crushing it.
